Denise Kleinman is the main contributor at Mean Consulting, LLC, and performs research consulting for City and State Governments, Non-Profits, University Institutes, Survey Research Centers, Housing Groups, Real Estate Developers, Foundations, Conservancies, and other Consulting Firms. She has her Master of Science in Urban Studies from Savannah St... ate University, and was awarded a Fellowship from HUD for her graduate studies. Denise also has a background in design and construction, having received an Associate in Science in Architecture, and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Design. She has worked in residential construction, either as a sub-contractor or as the developer, intermittently, for over 10 years; this experience aids in some of the research work in which she is involved. Denise is passionate about problem solving and all things affordable housing; including development, research, design, funding, and policy. She is also interested with the sub categories within, such as, housing that considers the user, universal design, green/sustainable design/development, inclusionary zoning, adaptive reuse, and housing for specific groups within society (the homeless, ex-convicts, new adults/former foster care children, single mothers, those who are domestically abused, the elderly, and the mentally and physically disabled); as well as innovative development strategies with regard to design, funding, and materials and methods of construction.Read More
