MCTD was founded in 1983 as Michigan City Tool & Die Inc. Over the years, many changes have taken place in the diversity of projects undertaken. To reflect the company's growth into a full service machine builder, the company's name was changed from Michigan City Tool & Die Inc. to MCTD, Inc. in the year 2000. MCTD now stands for Machines, Controls... , Tooling, and Design. MCTD, Inc. has evolved into one of the premier special machine builders in Northern Indiana.
