The founders, Mr. David McNamee and Mr. Stephen C. Hosea were partners in the law firm of Beatty and McNamee (Hyattsville, Maryland), which Mr. McNamee co-founded in 1955. At its inception, the firm concentrated in the areas of tax and corporate law and probate and real estate law. Mr. Kim, who represents clients in the purchase and sale of busines... ses, joined the firm in as a partner in 1985. By 1988, McNamee Hosea had grown to a firm of seven attorneys. On December 1, 1988, it merged with Milton Jernigan & Associates, P.C., a corporate, banking and real estate firm, also originally founded in 1982. This merger increased the firm size to ten attorneys and expanded its expertise into the areas of franchise law and banking. Following the merger, Mr. Jernigan was added as a named Principal. Later, Mr. Lynch and Mr. Beall were also named as Principals in the firm. On January 1, 2002, McNamee, Hosea, Jernigan & Kim, P.A. merged with James M. Greenan, P.C. and The Law Practice of Thomas Walker, Esquire, bringing to McNamee Hosea the talents and resources of Mr. Greenan, Mr. Walker and their associates and staff. The merger also added such practice areas as bankruptcy, creditors' rights and personal injury to the firm. On January 1, 2006, Kevin M. Tracy was named a Principal in the firm and on August 1, 2007, Mark W. Schweitzer was named Principal. Brent M. Ahalt and Christopher L. Hamlin were named Principals on January 1, 2008. In September 2008, the firm changed its name to McNamee, Hosea, Jernigan, Kim, Greenan and Lynch, P.A. Craig Palik was named Principal in March 2009. In March of 2011, the firm expanded its practice areas to include land use and zoning, as well as family law with the addition of two associates, Lindsey K. Erdmann and Matthew C. Tedesco. The firm also added Daniel F. Lynch, a former partner at Knight Manzi Nussbaum and LaPlaca, as a Principal during this expansion.
