About Mcdowalls Surveyors
Founded in 1880 by George A McDowall - a Poor Rate Collector for West Ham Council - McDowalls has served the property needs of London and the South East based clients for the last 130 years. In 1880 Myles Francis the practice expanded considerably under the name of McDowall & Francis to encompass development, valuations, compulsory purchase, sales and auctions. This growth, at all times, adhered strictly to the professional requirements of the RICS. From 1973 Douglas Stratford and the company continued to expand its core range of business activities. 1n 1999 Chris Baker joined McDowalls straight from University. He was a Graduate Surveyor with a B.Sc in Estate Management. Chris went on to be the firm's youngest ever Partner. In 2011 he bought the firm from Douglas Stratford.
