Mattishall Pre-School has been providing the first steps into the world of care and education for the children of Mattishall and surrounding villages since 1969. From our early days as a playgroup in the church rooms, we have evolved into a thriving pre-school in our own building on the Primary School site. We now regularly have second-generation c... hildren passing through our doors to follow in their parent's footsteps! Our close links with the village school are very important to us and we are always very proud to see the shy little toddlers grow and develop into confident young children, excited about and fully prepared for an easy transition into their reception class. What has not changed over the decades is our primary aim of providing quality childcare and education in a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which the young children can play and learn together. We are registered with OFSTED and recently received an outstanding report. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum 'Learning through Play'. Every child is allocated a key person who works closely with both the child and his/her family. We believe that when children feel secure and happy in their environment they will become confident and independent learners. We are a non-profit making organisation and a registered charity, run by a management committee of parents and staff. We are registered with Norfolk County Council to enable us to access the government funding for 3 - 4 yr old children and we keep our fees as low as possible for the non funded children.
