Matthew Silverman Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to raising awareness with the goals of preventing suicide and saving lives. I've learned so much from becoming a part of the mental health crusade to raise awareness and reduce stigma, and have benefited so much from our mutual mission that I could not be more grateful for being involved. I'm so glad to have initiated an Active Minds chapter at my high school with your generous support, to have brought Jordan Burnham and Ross Szabo to my school with your help, and to have published articles in the Mountain Democrat newspaper on the efforts we've been making towards promoting awareness. MSMF has been an invaluable resource to my school district. Whether Im implementing a middle school assembly with an emphasis on suicide awareness or providing a school-wide kindness campaign, MSMF has been able to provide us with tremendous presenters and informational resources. No matter what degree of social emotional education Im looking to provide for my students, MSMF always has the right people, to help put in place, a meaningful and impactful message. Working at a K-8, we emphasize building a supportive school culture of acceptance and tolerance. Now, more than ever, we understand how bullying, suicidal thoughts, depression, and many other crises, can easily cripple the self-worth of young people.
