My name is Chantal Kassa. Helping students achieve academic and personal success has always been my true passion in life. After years teaching high school math, I noticed many students struggled with higher level math concepts because they had gaps in foundational skills. This inspired me to make a transition to middle school with a goal to bridge... the skills gap. I continue to work very closely with high school students helping them succeed in their regular math classes and SAT/ACT Math prep. My teaching philosophy centers around helping students learn from their mistakes by embracing it as a wonderful opportunity for intellectual growth. I believe that learning is not competition but a self-discipline that students need to master for life. As an academic coach, I enjoy conversations with both high school and college students through our Better GPA Life Skill course. In this course, students are exposed to indispensable soft skills needed to navigate the academic world successfully. Making a difference one lesson at a time is what we do best! We assist students who might need a quick refresher of challenging content or a strategic approach for understanding fundamental concepts needed to succeed in math. By maintaining a positive mindset and creating meaningful and collaborative learning environments, students learn to embrace challenges positively as they strive to be the best version of themselves each day. With a Bsc., two masters degrees, teaching certifications in middle and high school mathematics, 15 years classroom teaching experience and a tutor since my high school days, I believe your child is in great hands.
