Our seed client is a European corporate pension fund who has been working with the Masterpiece team since 2008. Our client roster includes global corporate pensions, sovereign government entities and asset managers. We spun out of Analytical Research, a $3 billion hedge fund advisory firm. Masterpieces Head of Operational Due Diligence, Maureen Hladky, has worked together with Masterpiece founder and Head of Advisory, Aaron Sweeney, at Analytical Research since 2012. Mrs. Hladky has been working in the asset management industry for thirty years across investment and due diligence functions. Mr. Sweeney hired Masterpiece Business Manager Kai Gayles to join Analytical Research in 2016. Data Analyst Yan Li is a recent graduate from Cornell Universitys Masters of Economics program and fills an invaluable role for the research team. Alums of this data analyst position from Analytical Research are now working in senior investment roles at major US endowments. Our team continues to grow! Aaron Sweeney was the firms first employee in 2009 when it formed a joint venture with Mr. Sweeneys former hedge fund research boutique, Event Capital Markets. Swiss hedge fund veteran Stephan Lods was Analytical Researchs founder and Chairman. Mr. Lods passion for client service and the global hedge fund industry provided Mr. Sweeney with invaluable tutelage. Event Capital was a dedicated Operational Due Diligence firm, primarily serving a $4 billion Greek family office hedge fund portfolio invested in literally hundreds of single hedge funds.
