Mid-State Roofing and Coating, Inc. was established in 1997 and incorporated in 2005. The company began mainly as a residential roofing business, but quickly grew into soliciting predominantly commercial roofing contracts. Currently, the solely commercial business engages many government roofing contracts, including schools, prisons, hospitals and... universities. Mid-State Roofing and Coating, Inc. has also completed jobs with LEED certification. Servicing the Central Pennsylvania region, Mid-State Roofing and Coating, Inc. maintains a fully staffed office in Belleville, PA. "Mid-State Roofing and Coating, Inc. was engaged by Penn State to replace the roof on the Health and Human Development East building in 2013. This project required abatement of asbestos containing shingles, repair to substrate, installation of new slate shingles and copper box gutter. All of this work required close coordination with the building occupants and limited access due to an adjacent active construction site. MSR did an excellent job of upfront planning and communication with all involved in the project and adjusting their plan after receiving feedback from the University and building occupants. Installation of a true slate roof requires work of craftsman with knowledge and attention to detail - the MSR installers were just that and installed a beautiful, well-functioning roof that will stand the test of time. Acting as the Universities construction manager, the company particularly appreciated their ability to adjust and react to the changing conditions of construction and weather while maintaining a focus on safety.
