MARSH Aviation

For more than 50 years, Marsh Aviation Company has been a leader in engineering and innovation for performance- and reliability-oriented aircraft upgrades and modifications. The company specializes in repurposing retired military airframes into modern, capable, efficient and cost-effective aircraft - often at a fraction of the cost of similar new a... ircraft. Many of these upgrades include conversion to modern and efficient Honeywell turbine powerplants with high-performance Hartzell propellers, modern avionics, and structural modification of the airframes to accommodate installation of new mission-specific systems. Since the 1980s, Marsh is best known and respected for its expertise and success in modifying and upgrading variants of the Grumman S-2 and C-1 family of military airframes. Beginning with a proof-of-concept conversion of a piston-engined S-2A to turbine power, Marsh then developed a turbine conversion for six carrier-based military aircraft for Armada Argentina, the Argentine Navy. Next came the addition of a proprietary Constant-flow Aerial Retardant Delivery System (CARDS) and the fully FAA Type Certificated Marsh S-2F3AT "Turbo Tracker", "Initial Attack" aerial tanker was born. This led to contracts for a firefighting aircraft in Turkey, and for 23 Marsh S-2F3AT Air Tankers for the California Department of Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) see http://calfire.ca.gov/fire_protection/fire_protection_air_program. Marsh also adapted the CARDS for use in the Lockheed C-130, along with modifications for oil and chemical dispersion operations. Other programs included upgrade and modifications on military variants of Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft and numerous OV-10 "Bronco" aircraft for the U.S. State Department and U.S. Air Force. In 2011 Marsh Aviation was awarded a contract by Marinha do Brazil (the Brazilian Navy) for carrier-based KC-2 COD/AAR air-to-air refueling and utility aircraft.
