Marlow Striders

Marlow Striders is a friendly and sociable group of runners determined to keep fit and make running fun. We normally meet at Marlow Sports Club in Pound Lane on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 pm. With over 120 members of all ages and abilities we're sure to have someone who runs at your pace. Some of our runners are highly competitive and love... the challenge of racing as often as possible, while others seek nothing more gruelling than a steady plod and a sociable chat on route - it's up to you. And if you're totally new to running or recovering from an injury we also have a walking group. For many of us making new friends and catching up with old ones is as important as running itself and you'll always be welcome in the bar after evening training runs. Various social events are organised throughout the year. Age really doesn't matter in our club. When an ex-chairman of ours turned 60 a few years back, he decided to form a select band of members known as MJs (or mature joggers to the rest of us). As the years roll by this group continues to increase in size but happily we've also had quite an influx of younger guys and galls to redress the balance!Read More
