MarkJames & Co was founded in January 2010. The company is relatively new but backed by 40 years of service in design and fabrication. Mark J McAniff In the 70's I worked as a designer, pattern maker and production consultant. Along the way I did some work in furniture design leading me to enrol at Parson's School of Design. While there I supported... myself and family as a modelmaker. For the next few decades I worked doing custom fabrications, prototypes, design and continued to consult. I came into kitchens in 1999 first as a designer, then as a cabinet maker, and then back to design. After being laid off in 2009 I was freelancing as a designer. Former clients and designers began to call. It looked like a good idea to add in a cabinet line. I put together a business plan and well.... here we are. Starting a business in the recent economic climate required careful consideration. For me the answer was to maintain quality, create value, and keep overhead low. Our core ideas are: Every project is important, regardless of budget. Offer convenient appointments, including evenings both at the studio and at clients homes. Carry the best value products at each price point. Keep margins fair and respect peoples budgets, and allow no nonsense. Design all aspects of a project regardless of whos supplies that part. Coordinate the installation phase of every project until it is complete as designed. & Co Over the years Mark has built a healthy network of allied professionals, some who simply advise on a project others we offer as referrals. By referring clients to others we maintain a healthy relationship with these professionals and clients get improved service, talent and pricing. We now offer a complete installation package for those who prefer it. We still gladly also refer clients to the same installers and continue to coordinate each project until completion.
