Established in 2011, Bournemouths Marisco South now directly employs over 50 multi-trades to service a growing demand for planned and responsive property maintenance services for both social housing and private property owners. Although most of our work is in Southern Dorset and West Hampshire , we regularly undertake planned property work in an ar... ea that stretches from Plymouth to Chichester and up the M3 corridor to London. Where we began: Marisco started in Christchurch as a painting and decorating service with two employees and a van. We now directly employ over 50 staff and plan to double that figure over the next three years. From the start, we focused on developing a lean-management, social housing property maintenance service that has allowed us to successfully complete a series of council and housing association tender contracts for planned and responsive property repair and refurbishment works across the South. By investing in our people, paying a fair wage and developing skills through training, we have created an efficient and cost-effective business that frequently exceeds our clients standards and void-turnaround expectations, as well as meeting high health and safety compliance to protect the welfare of our employees. The future: The construction sector is going to be facing some long overdue and challenging legislative changes in the next few years designed to improve health and safety compliance and drive up professional standards. Marisco is already ahead of the game on the health and safety compliance front and we will continue to campaign for higher standards in the years to come. We are planning to extend our operating area across to Southampton and Portsmouth over the next two years by opening a new unit in Fareham. We know the only way to provide a low-cost property refurbishment service is by directly employing local trades and training them to meet our high standards.
