Marin Treks

In July of 2007 we founded Marin Treks, a family-oriented outdoor science education and adventure company. We now have 2 part-time employees (Audrey Van Hoven and Cindy Demchuk, aka Mrs. V and Ms. D), and a number of student volunteers running many programs for children: half-day camps, birthday parties, scout programs, school and preschool program... s, science nights, and afternoon drop-in classes. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love for the outdoors and a basic understanding of the natural phenomena that drive our planet. Each program is designed to give children hands-on fun as they learn about the natural world. Brian began his teaching career in 1988. Since then he has taught elementary school, environmental education, and summer day camps for children from pre-K through 8th grade. He's also led backpacking and whitewater raft trips. Lina has been working with children since 1985 and has been an active parent volunteer for the Novato elementary schools since 2003. She has also spent many hours assisting with Girl Scout activities, day camp and overnight camps, and volunteering for sporting events. We have enjoyed exploring the great outdoors together since 1995. Hiking and camping in North America is our family's passion; a passion that inspired us to create Marin Treks.
