About Mara Elephant Project
Mara Elephant Project, based in Lemek Conservancy Masai Mara Kenya, began in 2011 in response to high-levels of ivory poaching. MEP's mission is now to continue to protect elephants from the ivory trade, to shift human-elephant conflict in the Mara to peaceful coexistence, to protect elephant habitat and secure movement connectivity. MEP's mission is fulfilled through a combination of boots on the ground ranger operations, aerial operations, applied research, community outreach and the development and use of conservation technology and geospatial analyses.Explore more
