Manning Valley Respite Care Services

Manning Valley Respite Care Service Inc. has been providing respite in the greater Taree area since 1986 when the Home and Community Care program (HACC) was first funded as a joint federal/state government initiative. We became an independently incorporated body in 1989 and now provide a range of support to people with disabilities, their families... and carers in our community. In recent years, in consultation with our key stakeholders we began to trade under the name of About Inclusion - to better reflect the philosophy, vision and values of our organisation. This plan for our future was developed by the About Inclusion board with input from the management team, staff and participants. From the commencement of 2014, we focused on ensuring all at About Inclusion understood and delivered support against the six Disability Service Standards for people with disability. To facilitate this understanding, our Quality Management Focus Group was formed. The group is comprised of management committee representatives, participants, carers, volunteers and employees. The Focus Group meets monthly and was pivotal in our third party verification in November 2014. The third party assessors advised we were 100% verified as a Quality Accredited service. The assessors confirmed "we provide beautiful support which lives up to our name, About Inclusion". That is welcome feedback and aligns to the years About Inclusion have delivered person-centred and inclusive support. We know that there is no future without the participants who choose to use our support and the dedicated team of staff and volunteers who support them.
