Maltby Electric Supply Company is a leading supplier of electrical products to the Northern California market. With a half century of experience Maltby sets the market standard from San Francisco to Ukiah and Sacramento to San Jose. The company's customers -- commercial, residential, and industrial contractors, hospitals, schools, governments, airp... orts, public works, industry, and more -- have come to rely on the company for quality products, competitive prices, and superior service. After celebrating the company's semi-centennial Maltby Electric Supply is proud of how far we've come. By meeting customer needs, innovating with the industry, and understanding the local market the company has grown from a small family business into a major Northern California player. In 1955, brothers Jack and Chart Maltby began a business with just four employees. Growing steadily, Maltby Electric Supply was incorporated in 1961. Soon thriving, Maltby expanded into Sonoma and Marin, opening a Petaluma store and establishing a headquarters in San Francisco in 1980, a San Rafael branch in 1988, and a fourth branch in Fairfield to serve Solano County in 1994. When Chart Maltby passed away in 1978, his brother continued as president until his retirement in 1993. Jack's daughter Susan took the helm at Jack's retirement, and was replaced by Jack's son John in 2003. John Maltby continues the tradition of excellence that brought the company this far, and, with the support of his committed employees and dedicated customers, he looks forward to another fifty years of success.
