Founded by Mr.P.John in 1910 as the first Indian owned Public Limited Rubber Plantation Company, it has a track record of efficient,progressive and profitable management and has received awards for excellence in Product Quality, Factory Safety and Effluent Treatment from the Tea Board. The United Planters Association of South India , The National S... afety Council, The Department of Factories and Boilers and the State Pollution Control Board. After the death of Mr.P.John in 1927 his son and personal assistant since 1919 , Mr.P.Kurian John Fellow of the Royal College of Arts London took up the management of the company and was the Managing Director till 1953. He served on the Board till his death in 1962. After the death of Mr.K.C.Thomas in 1991 his son Mr. J.K. Thomas tookup the Managing Director of the company. In May 2013, he has been elected as Vice Chairman of the Industry Advisory Panel of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) at the World Rubber Summit organized by IRSG at Singapore. Mr.K.C Thomas was appointed as the Managing Director in 1954 and continued to guide the Company till his death in 1991.
