Founded in 1884 by Mr. E. J. Major, and headquartered in Candiac (Montreal), Quebec, Canada, Major Wire Industries Limited initially manufactured wire fencing, safety screens for windows, and other screens. Over the years, the company management has diversified its product line to meet the changing needs and demands of customers, and has moved the... company in new directions and new markets. Over a three-year period, Major Wire perfected the precise chemistry that would effectively bond polyurethane to individual steel wires, thus eliminating the need for woven cross wires. The result was Flex-Mat® High-Performance, Self-Cleaning Screen Media, which is constructed of independently vibrating wires and polyurethane strips that dramatically increase material throughput, lengthen wear life, and virtually eliminate blinding, pegging, and clogging.
