We are located in the serene rolling hills of south-central Tennessee, along with our sister company, Book Publishing Co., one of the leaders in developing and distributing information on vegetarian diet and nutrition, specifically using soy products. Since 1971, we have lived and worked in America's largest intentional community, The Farm. Members of The Farm have been pioneers in the development and use of soyfoods in this country and have helped to establish the healthfulness of vegetarian diets for people of all ages. This catalog contains many of the foods The Farm helped put on the "natural foods map," including nutritional yeast, textured soy protein, and tempeh starter. The Farm's Tempeh Lab was the first commercial source of tempeh starter in the United States; almost all of the tempeh operations in this country began with starter coming from this little company. The cookbooks published by our sister company, Book Publishing Company, are considered vegetarian classics. The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook was the first completely vegan cookbook on the market. The Farm continues today as a respected source of information on vegetarian cuisine.
