Madera County Umpires Association

The Madera County Umpires Association's is devoted to train and develop youth umpires. Our current membership of six adults and seven youth umpires have had a very busy 2004 season. The Little League year started in March with providing umpires for the Madera American Little League and the District 10 Tournament games including the finals for the 1... 1 yr old and Senior Divisions Sectionals in July. MCUA was invited to Hanford to umpire the Little League Sectional playoffs and officiated eight of the games including the final game which saw Visalia win and advance to the Western Region playoffs in San Bernardino. In August our Association entered into an agreement with the Fresno World Of Baseball to furnish umpires for four Super Series Tournaments that were held at Granite Park in August, September, October and November. MCUA also handled a Thanksgiving weekend tournament for US Fastball Baseball, the fastest growing sport in the USA. Our Association is looking forward to a very busy 2005 year. Umpire training will begin in January for new umpires as well as providing training for other leagues that contract with MCUA to train their umpires. The money earned by MCUA is spent to recruit, train and equip youth umpires. In June of 2005 six of our youth umpires will be attending the week long Umpire School at Little League Western Region Headquarters in San Bernardino.Read More
