About Mac's Thrifty Store
Established in 1950. Click Business Name for More Information. We are family owned and operated, and we treat every one of our customers like family. We have been supplying work clothing and foot wear to the Athens area since 1949. We look forward to helping you find exactly what you need! Call the number above or stop on by! Our Dad James Mac McLaren founded our business in the early 1950s. The store was originally in uptown Athens, just off Court St on W. State St. We moved to our present location, 940 East State St. in 1989. Mac added the word Thrifty in our name because thrifty implies that a person is frugal or careful with their money. He strived to offer merchandise which was economical and a good value for his customers. We only sell new merchandise and while we have Thrifty in our name we are NOT a used thrift store.Explore more
