Creativity and innovation flourish at the intersection of disciplines. Each area of expertise provides a unique lens and perspective. Our approach combines them, just like a kaleidoscope. Hence, we are Scope. Scope is a social impact company, accelerating social change at scale. We are based in Helsinki, Finland, and our work in equality, gender an... d health spans Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Joe Wright and Mari Tikkanen founded Scope in 2008 (under the name of M4ID) after having worked for two decades in the international development and health sector. Their goal was to leverage creativity, cross disciplinary collaboration, and people-centred approaches for real, lasting change in underrepresented communities globally. By weaving together the best of non-for-profit and private sectors, they have built a mission-lead, independent and sustainable social impact company. This agile, lean model enables Scope to, in addition to client-led work, also fund and execute our own social innovation projects in which we create new services and campaigns for a fairer world. Our vision is a world where everyone, everywhere can experience a healthy, dignified, fulfilling life. We seek to improve the lives of underrepresented people globally by codesigning innovative pathways to social change. In doing so, we apply a creative problem solving approach tailored to address complex, multicausal societal problems. We apply human-centered design to ensure that people benefiting from interventions and those implementing them are involved throughout the discovery, co-design, testing, and implementation process. We design systems-informed and integrated pathways to adoption of innovations at scale. In doing so, we build proof of concepts, carry out micro trials, facilitate organizational and system change, and rollout adaptation based scaling strategies.
