When it comes down to it, the most important thing about selecting a diamond is being able to look at the stone and recognize its beauty. Regardless of what a diamond certificate says, some diamonds have the sparkle, fire and brilliance you are looking for, and others do not. We have GIA graduates on staff here who can determine grading aspects such as color and clarity. In our modern internet age, customers are being taught to purchase a diamond based on specs found on a certificate. These specs will give you a general idea of how a diamond looks, but they don't tell the whole story.
