Luhn Law PLLC was established in 2010 as a boutique law firm to offer personalized legal services to businesses and individuals with employment law needs. Its founder, Gail Luhn, is a native of Washington State. Gail worked for the American Red Cross following her graduation from The Evergreen State College in 1982. In 1986, she accepted a position... with the American National Red Cross in Burlingame, California. While there, she began graduate study in Human Resources and Organizational Development at the University of San Francisco. Her interest in employer-employee relations led to her decision to attend law school, and she graduated with a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1993. Gail was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1993. She relocated to her native state of Washington in 1997, and reluctantly withdrew her admission to practice law in Kentucky in 2014. Gail practiced in the Bluegrass State for four years before returning to Washington in 1997. She joined the Seattle firm of LeGros, Buchanan & Paul in 1997, and became a partner in 2001. At LBP she expanded her practice to include maritime employment, including drafting crew contracts, employment policies, and conducting HR audits. She successfully represented a major maritime employer in defense of National Labor Relations Board charges that the mutiny of crewmembers aboard a vessel in navigation in the Bering Sea) cannot be fired for refusing to work (the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals held they can). Gail spent most of 2004 helping to refit an 80 steel-hull yacht, M/V INFINITY, which is now her home and never-ending project. Gail is currently admitted to practice in the State of Washington (1997), before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
