Lot Thirteen Wines

Lot Thirteen vineyard is owned and managed by Stuart and Coralie McMillan. Our 12 acre property, producing Grenache, Shiraz and Greco wine grapes, is located at the foot of Sellicks Hill in the McLaren Vale wine region. We personally nurture our vineyard through every process, every season. From the hand pruning in the winter, to the bunch and shoo... t thinning in summer and everything in between to ensure superb quality wine grapes are produced and wine we are extremely proud of. With a devout respect to the soil and environment we sustainably manage our vineyard utilising organic principles. With our proximity to the hills to the south (which results in regular gully breezes throughout summer) and the sea to the west, we rarely ever have any frost and, combined with an open, minimal vigour canopy, we are able to rely on minimal chemical intervention to control disease. We use no herbicides (ie chemical weed spray) on the property, relying on under vine mowing (and good ol' fashioned hard work) for weed control. Which we believe promotes a healthier eco system within the vineyard. Our winemaking is undertaken with our good friend Paul Petagna, implementing a truly minimalistic regime that aims not to add, but to extract the essence of the pure fruit our vineyard has provided.
