Lori Klopp

Lori Klopp is an illustrator, painter, designer and educator based in New York, whose figurative work is defined by a saturated, bawdy palette. She earned her MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University in 2013 and studied visual communication at the University of Georgia. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Arkansas, New Mexico and Californi... a. Raised in Alabama and Georgia, Lori developed a fascination with the absurdities of Southern culture. This sensibility lends a social critique to recent projects such as the satirical male pinup series, Size Matters, and the editorial portrait series, I Have Something to Say. Loris illustrations have been recognized in international juried competitions such as 3x3 Illustration Annual #10, CMYK Magazine's Top 100 New Creatives, Applied Arts Magazines 2014 Photography & Illustration Awards, Creative Quarterlys CQ35, as well as the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles 52nd Illustration West Competition. Her paintings have been juried into international and national exhibitions such as Women Take Flight at Fayetteville Underground Gallery, the International Juried Exhibition at the Rochester Erotic Arts Festival, Salon de Eros at Greenpoint Gallery, Male-Man: Women Artists Depicting Men at Las Laguna Gallery, the 84th Annual Juried Open Exhibition of the National Art League, Me, Myself & I at Eastern New Mexico University, COLOR at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition Gallery, and the Astoria Art Festival.
