About Local Energy
Local Energy is a social enterprise established by the Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) in 2010. Any surplus we make goes back to support the LGIU's charitable work. Local Energy was initially set up to manage the growing volume of work in the public sector on carbon reduction, climate change, energy efficiency and the Green Deal. We still help public sector organisations manage the risks associated with ever-changing legislation on climate change, carbon emissions and energy efficiency. We also help local authorities and their communities to take advantage of the opportunities offered by renewable energy technologies such as solar PV, wind and biomass and incentive schemes including Feed In Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive.Explore more
