Our aim is to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for your child. We will encourage them to learn for themselves, and be able to make their own choices and decisions. We will work closely with you to gain knowledge of your child and their experiences. We acknowledge that you, the parents, are the primary educators of your child and w... e aim to provide the best possible care to support you in this. On your initial visit we will show you around the community centre, fill in a contract, share our policies and risk assessments and answer any questions you may have, therefore please allow 1 to 2 hours for this. Your children are very welcome to come along with you and play while we are chatting. Please bring with you are copy of your child's birth certificate and your funded reference number if applicable. When you leave you will be given an 'all about me' form to fill in regarding your child and asked to bring this back on your child's first session. Little Smiles will be open to 2, 3 and 4 year olds, children will learn through play, child initiated play as well as adult led activities. Our ratio will be 1:4 for 2 year olds and 1:8 for 3 and 4 year olds. All children our welcome at our setting, we are able to offer government funded spaces as well as sessional self-funded places. Little Smiles will have a non-compulsory uniform, if you would like your child to wear the uniform, this can be purchased online from uniformeasy.com you would then type in Little Smiles or you can order it direct from us. We will be using tapestry which is an online learning journal for each individual child, this is where we will record your child's learning and development and progress they make in the setting. As a parent you will be able to access to this so you can also make contributions regarding your child.
