LitConn started as a professional development company with its focus on those who serve the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs). After years of training teachers and administrators in second language acquisition, it became clear that professional development without quality curriculum resulted in very little progress for both teachers and stu... dents. After years of development and testing, LitConn now has a complete portfolio of offerings designed to meet the needs of ELLs and those students who are struggling with literacy in Grades K through 12. The curriculum successfully develops production skills (speaking and writing), which, along with listening, are the primary vehicles for teaching reading. In English Now! the students write because they are going to read, and they read because they are going to write. All of the capability of these programs is meaningless unless they are implemented well. LitConn has developed a number of support systems to aid in effective implementation. Initial training, online training, direct classroom assistance, administrator and facilitator/coach training, and other support services will be provided as needed to assure effective implementation.
