Limington Lumber Co. was founded in 1961 in Limington. The company purchased a mill site in East Baldwin in 1969. Limington Lumber company is located in the Saco River Valley in an area stretching from Fryeburg to Biddeford that has been known for its' quality White Pine for over 300 years. Limington Lumber Company, a long standing member of Northe... astern Lumber Manufacturers Association (NeLMA), produces over 14 million board feet of Eastern White Pine boards annually. We operate a band sawmill and planing mill, offering many different patterns. Our employee's expertise, combined with 9 state of the art dry kilns help ensure that we have the quality products that will meet your customer's needs. In 1999, Limington Lumber co. embarked on a series of large expansions in order to offer its customers the best possible products, and to strengthen Limington Lumber's position as we entered the new millennium. The first phase was the installation of a PHL 36 bin sorter and gradeline in the sawmill. This project gave us more flexibility in our sorts and brought all of our employees inside. The second step was the installation of a PHL optimizer edger with Autolog controls. This piece of equipment not only improved yield, but also eliminated the most physically demanding position in the mill. The upgrade of the Planer Mill came next with a whole new line surrounding a WACO Maxi Moulder. This new moulder allows us to produce the highest quality finish. The new line surrounding the WACO was setup to improve flow and give us more flexibility to easily absorb the increased production. We next installed a Verville 4 station bagging system with auto stapling to process the increase in shavings. Limington Lumbers latest upgrade was completed in April of 2006 with the installation of a Hurst 250hp boiler system. This allowed us to begin using sawdust to generate heat for the dry kilns as well as the plant, which in turn allowed us to retire the 2 oil-fired boilers giving us better control of our heating costs going forward. ...Read More
