About Leyland Motor

Leyland Motor Company was established in 1976 as a joint venture between the Nigerian government and British Leyland International. The Nigerian Government owned 35%; British Leyland International, 40%; Oyo State, 5% and others, 20%. As part of Federal Government privatisation policy, the company was sold to the current owners of Leyland Busan in 1994.
