Lemay Plumbing has served you, our valued customers, for 56 years and counting. Our family business was started by my grandpa, Art Hartmann in 1955.Grandpa started his plumbing career in the 1930's as an apprentice, then a journeyman plumber with Plumbers' Local Union No. 35. My dad, Charlie grew up helping Grandpa, before he joined him in the plum... bing business in 1960 and became a journeyman plumber as well. In 1982, the business was handed over to my dad and was moved to our present location. For 20 years, customers could come in to our retail showroom and parts department along with calling us for plumbing service. In 2002 we decided to discontinue the retail portion of the business, so we could concentrate our efforts on providing exceptional plumbing service to both new and existing customers. My sister Shelly Chambliss joined the company in 1982 and still serves as the office manager, book keeper and paycheck signer. e have to be nice to her!She's the one you'll likely talk to when you call us. Like Dad, I grew up in the trade. came on board in 1987, after receiving an engineering degree from UMR. hortly thereafter, I realized I would rather join our family business. am now the Master Plumber for Lemay Plumbing. I also serve as an instructor with Plumbers' and Pipefitters' Local 562. At Lemay Plumbing, you, our customers, come first. We cherish the relationships that we have developed with our clientele over the years, some of whom remember Grandpa and my dad working at their house!
