The Eramurra Solar Salt Project targets at least 3 million tons of high-grade chemical salt produced per annum, targeting this shortfall. The Project incorporates innovative layout and production techniques for the worlds highest-grade industrial solar salt product for export, ensuring Eramurra and the Pilbara maintains competitiveness into the future. Environmentally Conscious Solar Salt Production. Solar salt is derived from the evaporation of seawater using sunlight and wind energy. Leichhardt is working with bird experts and universities to design the evaporation ponds for roosting and foraging areas for all birdlife.
