About Leia Brasil

Leia Brasil has been working since 1991 to combat functional illiteracy in Brazil by providing free access to literature, theater, arts, and cinema, as well as intensive teacher training in public schools and communities across eight Brazilian states. Currently, they have a technical cooperation agreement with FUNARJ to manage the Villa-Lobos School of Music and produce cultural content through their YouTube channel, Sonora. Looking ahead, they are launching a new editorial phase that includes publishing literature and creating differentiated pedagogical materials for science education in elementary schools, along with a digital scientific journal focused on educational research and technologies.
