Legacy Preparatory Academy

Mt. Pleasant S. B. Middle School opened in 2003-2004. In 2014, the Board voted to change the name to Legacy Preparatory Academy, continuing the legacy of consistently working with students to improve academic performance and increase learning gains on State standardized tests (FSA, EOC and FSSA). Students have successfully demonstrated academic gai... ns for benchmarks at their appropriate grade levels. In 2016, Legacy expanded from a middle school to a K-8 school. Legacy Prep emphasizes parent involvement through monthly Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) meetings, School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings, and volunteering. Students are expected to follow all school rules, show self-discipline, responsibility, respect, complete class assignments and homework, and adhere to the uniform dress code policy. Legacy Preparatory Academy is a sponsor of the National School Breakfast/Lunch Program. This program provides well-balanced, nutritious and delicious meals to our children. The total commitment of the Board of Directors, Students, Parents, Staff, Community, and Business Partnerships has resulted in high student achievements. Legacy Prep is a traditional public school. We are not a private school, not a church school, and not an alternative school. Our goal at Legacy Prep is to develop the whole child. We provide a varied educational curriculum that includes meeting the Florida Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) and the Florida Standards. Legacy has also implemented the acclaimed AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) system.
