Leclair Roofing

Leclair Roofing was founded by Steve Leclair in 1983. The Company initially was based in Lowell, Massachusetts, and employed 10 people; first year sales were $200,000. With the addition of Bobby Feeley as Estimator, Steve was able to grow the business above the $1 million mark in two years. The Company's next significant step in growth to the $2 mi... llion mark did not occur until 1993 - shortly after Bob Therrien (today's Estimating Supervisor) joined the organization. Steve's brother, Ed, joined the Company in 1986. After learning the business from the roof down, so to speak, Ed was made a partner in 1989; he helped Steve see the business through some difficult years. Another of today's key employees, Ann Langan, the Office Manager, joined the Company in 1987 and has helped the brothers from almost every office position. The year 1987 was aslo the time when the Company moved to its present location in Tewksbury. Throughout good and bad times, Leclair Roofing has steadfastly insisted that all work be done right the first time. It is that work ethic that has made the Company what it is today: a roofing company with an excellent reputation throughout the construction industry. Looking back, one can easily identify some key developments that have propelled the organization to the level it occupies today. First, the biggest job for the Company at the time (Shop and Save - 70,000 square feet) established Leclair as something more than just another small roofing firm. Then, in 1995, a job at Shoppers World that started as a $300,000 project and developed into the first $1 million job brought another million-dollar effort from the same developer, Suffolk, and made 1997-1998 a banner year for the Company. 1997 was a slower period due to hiring American Management Services for restructuring of the Company, which resulted in another banner year in 1998, which has continued into the new millennium.
