The company was started by Jose Leal, after immigrating to Canada he worked as a labourer in the construction industry and helped to complete the highway 401 in Ontario. After 20 years of working in the industry he decided that he would start his own business and provide Toronto's booming construction industry with tools and building supplies. He o... pened up shop at bathurst and dundas at first and after a few years that location was not large enough to support the growing business so he moved to Dupont st. Where the company has been opperating for many years. Since then the company has changed quite a bit, in 1972 there was a tragic fire that engulfed the building, that is when the Leal family made the change from rentals and building supplies to mostly just rentals.
