Leadership

The Leadership for Queens conference was created in 2002 by Dale Williams. The Kings Konnection established by Anthony Jones was created in 2005 and joined forces with Leadership for Queens. The Leadership conference is geared towards newly elected kings and queens as they prepare for their upcoming reigns. There are approximately 104 Historically... Black Colleges and Universities and each college or university has a campus queen. Each campus queen has a court that usually consists of class queens and runner-ups. In the last ten years more colleges and universities are adding kings to their campuses to promote positive male role models. Persons who find themselves in such positions have a great responsibility holding such prominent leadership positions on their college and universities campuses; however, there is not always a leadership training program specifically designed for campus kings and queens outside of their college and universities. Kings and Queens are expected to serve their college/university with poise, style, and grace. Each king or queen is expected to be intellectual and professional. Kings and queens are a representation of their college or university whether they realize it or not. Many persons in these positions sometimes find themselves in a position that is both intimidating and overwhelming.
