About The Large Binocular Telescope Observatory
The Large Binocular Telescope Observatory (LBTO) is an international astronomical research facility headquartered on the Tucson campus of the University of Arizona, with its telescope located on Mt. Graham in southeastern Arizona. The observatory operates a binocular design consisting of two 8.4m telescopes mounted side-by-side to provide the spatial resolution of a 22.7m telescope. It serves a community of users through a partnership including the University of Arizona, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, The Ohio State University, and The Research Corporation.
