Langley Methodist Church

Langley Methodist Church was established in 1826 (Our current church building dates from 1858) and is a member of the Macclesfield circuit of Methodist churches. The other churches being Broken Cross, Gawsworth, Macclesfield, Prestbury and Walker Barn. Macclesfield Methodist circuit is within the Manchester and Stockport district of Methodism, whic... h stretches from Oldham in the north to Macclesfield and Knutsford in the south. We bid you a warm welcome to any of our services at 10:30am and 6:30pm* on Sundays. The church has extensive facilities including a Creche and Sunday school for younger members, together with facilities for disabled access and enhanced sound systems for the hard of hearing. In line with the best traditions of Methodism, we have a superb choir who meet for practice once a week. We have good relations with other churches in the Macclesfield area, and on occasions share services with Sutton St James Anglican Church and St Edwards Roman Catholic Church. Our church is also a member of the Hope in North East Cheshire group. We have published a book called " A history of Methodism in Langley " by Thelma Whiston. This is a fascinating history of the church and the village spanning three centuries. Another is " Langley Now and Then " by the same author.
