To locate, preserve, and mark historical sites and places of public interest in the Town of Sanbornton. To disseminate information on the history and development of New Hampshire and particularly the Town of Sanbornton, by holding public meetings for such purposes, and by publication of historical articles. Formed in 1952, the Sanbornton Historical Society is dedicated to cataloguing, preserving, and promoting the history of Sanbornton, New Hampshire. more significant focus for its aims and objectives when it acquired the Lane Tavern as a gift from an anonymous donor. There may have been a time when preservation was about saving an old building here or there, but those days are gone.
