CCS is a charity supporting rural communities across Somerset. We have encountered a couple of thorny issues regarding spending a permanent endowment and looking at how we can set up a trading arm to ensure our future sustainability. Rosie's expert, up to date advice and guidance has helped us through a maze of Charity Commission red tape and enabl... ed us to consider the right course of action for our charity. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her services. In 2016 Lancaster Parr assisted The Creative Dimension Trust to register as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). The Trust runs summer courses, led by professional craftsmen, for students aged 14-18 from inner-city schools in London who learn hands-on crafts skills, ranging from gilding and marquetry to wood-working, sculpture and hand engraving. Rosie Parr has recently given pro bono advice to Dementia Pathfinders, a national community interest company which she helped to register, on setting up an associated charity working to support people with dementia. Rosie has advised on forming the new charity as a charitable incorporated organisation, and on its governance. Dementia Pathfinders CIC is a social enterprise delivering therapeutic care and support for people with dementia and their families, and programmes of education and learning for people working in the dementia care field. In memory of Sophie Parr, we have given pro bono advice to We Hear You (registered charity 109553) to support its conversion to the new legal form of a CIO. We Hear You provides free professional counselling to any adults or children affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Somerset and West Wiltshire. Rosie has for the last six years given pro bono advice to a long-established charity 'The Society for Promoting the Training of Women' (founded 1859) by updating its company constitution and loan agreements, advising on its endowment, obtaining a uniting direction to link it to a subsidiary fund and promoting its profile.
