James LaMantia's career in the fine art world started as a young man as he was inspired by his family which was made up of artists and musicians. James graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a BFA. While exhibiting his work in both New York and Long Island, he was the Gallery Director for the Amber Palette which was located on Madison Avenue in Manhattan for 5 years. t the age of 26 he decided to open LaMantia Gallery in Northport where he has been for the past 26 years. Over the years, he has been invited to sit on panel discussions at numerous art conventions around the country. He has had articles published, has been regularly quoted in trade magazines and was proud when the gallery was voted "The #1 Gallery in the Nation for Retail Excellence" by Décor Magazine in 2005. hile successful in business, James is also involved in many community projects and is most proud of being the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Suffolk County's Gift of Life Program and the Past President of the Northport Rotary Club twice.
