About Kokoro y Mar
Our goal is to foster inclusion and belonging for W.O.C. in the wellness retreat world. "Kokoro" in Japanese means soul, spirit and heart (all existing as a whole), and Mar means "sea" in Spanish. As the Founders of this company, we wanted our name to reflect both of our roots: Japan and the Dominican Republic. We also wanted our name to embody our shared vision of nurturing this beautiful community of rad womxn, where we can amplify the voices of W.O.C., disrupt the homogeneous concept of "wellness retreats," diversify the world of yoga and surfing, and explore the healing journey of our souls with the support of our mama, the ocean.
