Knowledge Gate International School

Knowledge Gate International School was established in September 2012 in purpose built accommodation in Al Hail South, Muscat, Oman. Designed initially as a Sixth Form College, demand from both Omani and international families meant that we opened our doors to students from KG1 to Year 3 and from Year 10 (grade 9) to Year 13 (grade 12) in our first... year. From September 2013, we offer places to students in KG 1 through to Year 13. The school is staffed with experienced teachers from many parts of the world, offering an international curriculum in all year groups alongside a complimentary Arabic curriculum for Omanis and Arabic speakers. In the secondary department, students aim towards IGCSE and AS/A Level examinations accredited by the British Edexcel Examination Board. All students in years 12 and 13 who do not opt for A Level English, will be prepared for English tests in IELTS whereas Omani students are prepared for the Oman Ministry of Education tests in Islamic and Social Studies. KGIS also offers Omani students the opportunity to study the Bilingual Diploma course in Years 12 and 13. Suitable applicants may also have the possibility to study an Accredited University Study course at Foundation Level, where a pass grade provides an automatic placement at a specific university. The growing Primary and KG departments offer a bi-lingual approach to the curriculum for Omanis and Arabic speakers and an international curriculum, based upon British systems, for other students.
