Empowering our community through safe and trusting mentoring partnerships. Since our inception in 1986, our vision has been to empower our community through safe and trusting mentoring partnerships. We have lived this by providing transformational one-on-one mentoring opportunities between kids and caring adults. We started out serving the Brainerd... community, and today we reach kids in the communities of Brainerd, Staples, Pequot Lakes and Crosby and their surrounding areas. We partner with local businesses and school districts to provide an impactful smaller-scale mentoring option through our school-based Lunch Buddies program, and we rely on committed individuals, couples and families to be our volunteer mentors for our more robust community-based mentoring program, the foundation of Kinship Partners. Regardless of which program our volunteers and kids participate in, they experience the power of strong, caring relationships. We are governed by an active and engaged board of directors committed to furthering the mission of Kinship Partners and enhancing our community through mentoring. Our organization is led by an executive director with the support of program staff, an events and marketing specialist, and a bookkeeper.
