About Kin-Kin Coffee
Kin-Kin Coffee was born out of Johnson Public House on the east side of Madison, officially debuting at Yum Yum Fest 2014. A passion for special coffees and careful preparation methods led to a thoughtful expansion into another facet of the specialty coffee scene. Through selective sourcing and roasting in small batches, coffee roasters Kyle Johnson & Ian Floeter control all facets of the roasting process to bring out the best possible cup. Kyle & Ian have over a decade in specialty coffee between them. Kyle and Gwen Johnson opened Johnson Public House, a multi-roaster cafe in 2011, making a lifelong dream a reality for Gwen. But, it was Kyle who saw something beyond the brick & mortar meeting place and started planning an expansion into roasting very quickly. As one of Johnson Public House's initial employees, Ian made himself indispensable quickly moving up the ranks and becoming a manager and staff trainer.
