The studio has emerged in response to the increasing popularity of ceramics as an artistic medium and creative practice. We exist for and support all artists, the community and those with dreams involving clay. kil.n.it Experimental Ceramics Studio was established in August 2015 as a not-for-profit cultural organisation, opening it's doors to tenan... ts and casual visitors alike. Our central aim is to provide a collection of creative spaces and services devoted to nurturing the exploration of ceramics. Kil.n.it contains seven privately leased Artist Studios, a Shared Workshop and Glaze Kitchen, as well as an open firing service. We also have an off-site Classroom where we provide lessons designed for beginners through to advanced practitioners. All of our services are managed by a dedicated team of artists, technicians, interns and committee members. The running of Kil.n.it is made possible by the generous support of the City of Sydney through its accommodation grants program as well as additional funding from private individuals. Artists at kil.n.it enjoy working in a community of like-minded people who share the common goal of developing their art practice and knowledge. Kil.n.it enjoys a central location in the inner city suburb of Glebe, with easy access to public transport and other services.
