Educating people about small changes they can make now may prevent Kidney Disease in the future. Diabetes and Hypertension are the leading causes for Kidney Disease. The se... cond approach is for those battling Kidney Disease. We hope to help patients who are both on or off of dialysis and connecting them to a global network of support. When founder Brook Beckley first found out he had Kidney disease, he was given only vague information about this disease and its true realities. He was not informed how drastic his entire life would be transformed. Having to except the fact that youre terminally ill is something that can challenge anyone. Learning to keep a positive mind and accepting attitude was a battle of its own for Mr. Beckley. He decided to create the Kidney Life Foundation. Its purpose is to educate those who are recently diagnosed. Provide awareness to the general public about this disease. Support patients and there loved ones affected by this disease, and connect all through a global network. Brook has seen that many people become violent when they first go on dialysis. Depression and hopelessness become a huge factor in many patients. Most do not realize what to expect and can become very hostile towards doctors, nurses, and technicians. Brook tries to always keep a positive outlook and hopes to help others find peace and strength to keep fighting to stay alive. Kidney Disease is a rapidly progressive disease. We believe something needs to be done to bring more awareness to Kidney Disease. Through our efforts and techniques we hope to save lives by teaching preventative measures.
